New service matches seniors with appropriate resources throughout Edmonton
Seniors and their families can now call one number to access information about supports for seniors. The Seniors Information Phone Line will connect callers to programs, services and resources in the Edmonton area 24 hours a day. Being able to speak to someone and get information when it’s needed is an important part of an age-friendly community.
The Seniors Information Phone Line is a service provided through the existing 211 information telephone line. The 211 Information and Referral Specialists will direct callers to appropriate programs and services in the community. If the caller requires additional support, the call will be transferred over to an outreach worker at one of several senior service agencies in Edmonton who can perform a more detailed assessment.
To access the Seniors Information Phone Line, dial 2-1-1 and the Information and Referral Specialists will answer questions and provide referrals to programs and services in the Edmonton area.
