The Government of Canada announced on December 30, 2024 that the deadline for charitable donations to be eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year has been extended to February 28, 2025. The extension is intended to help with the effects of the four-week Canada Post mail stoppage, which may have impacted donor response to charity mailing campaigns.
This means that donors have the choice in using donations receipted until February 28, 2025 for either the 2024 or 2025 tax year.
