The Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton (Sage) is partnering with the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council (ESCC), and other senior-serving organizations to coordinate a district model for delivery of home support services through six large senior centres. Home Services will be transitioned from Sage to these six other senior-serving agencies in order to build district capacity.
Due to this decision by the senior-serving sector, the Home Services program at Sage has been disbanded.
Through this collaborative model, senior centres will be able to recruit local resources in order to connect seniors with home supports (snow removal, yard maintenance, minor home repair and housekeeping) in their area. Not only will this model build district capacity, it will ensure that there are no gaps or overlaps in home support services provided to seniors in Edmonton.
