Outing with Multicultural Seniors Outreach

"I really enjoy getting together with other seniors. This is an opportunity for all of us to share cultures and stories, to learn from each other, to voice our concerns, to break isolation and to make Canada our second home country."

Sage's Multicultural Seniors Outreach Program is a collaboration with the Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative. This program began in 2006 to serve isolated, at-risk immigrant and refugee seniors.

This partnership works in 5 communities:

  • Kurdish
  • Korean
  • Spanish-speaking
  • Former Yugoslavia
  • Eritrean/Ethiopian

We have recently expanded to include Iraq, Somalia, and other Eastern European countries.

Seniors are able to do many more things on their own once they receive support in their communities. They become more active and know who to turn to for help when needed.

If you are interested in being part of the program, or would like more information, please call  780 423 5510 or email BSewell@mysage.ca
