COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Permanent Full-time Position

Community engagement at Sage Seniors Association (Sage) includes fund development, sponsorship, member and donor stewardship, major events, publications, communications, adult education and professional development, public relations, student engagement, life enrichment, and volunteer services.

The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Community Engagement team to ensure effective communication of Sage’s programs and services; foster goodwill and partnership across senior-serving sectors; and prepare information, resources, and other materials for broad dissemination to seniors, their families, caregivers, senior-serving professionals, and other stakeholders.

Community engagement is a critical means of informing and engaging seniors and the community in the services that Sage provides. Sage’s ability to meet the needs of our clients, to engage our funders and donors, and effectively engage our stakeholders, depends on our ability to communicate effectively. The Communications Coordinator works with the Community Engagement and Leadership teams to plan, coordinate, develop, and disseminate quality materials that position Sage as a leader in the sector, and help ensure seniors are aware of and connected to essential resources.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the production of all of Sage’s communications materials and for managing Sage’s online presence. The Sage website (www.MySage.ca) is an important element of our communications services. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the potential of our website is maximized, and that content is current, easily accessible, and relevant.

The successful candidate will have a diploma or degree in Public Relations, English, Marketing, or Communications degree or diploma or equivalent experience; 3 to 5 years of experience in a communications environment; previous experience working with volunteers; Undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector is required.

This is a permanent full-time position, 35 hours a week. $42,448 base rate per annum. Rates above the base rate will be considered based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience and other factors.

NURSE PRACTITIONER
Temporary Position

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct health care services to clients in the Health Services @ Sage clinic. Duties include clinical care provision in the clinic or offsite, documentation, team and organizational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alberta (Adult or Family All Ages);
5-7 years of applicable experience in a primary care setting;
Additional training or credentialing (e.g. Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Geriatrics Provider, Palliative Care Certification, etc.) are considered assets;
Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidence-based methods and practices of primary care
delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention with senior populations;
Undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector is required.

Temporary, casual/part-time position depending on the needs of the role and the preferences of the individual. 1 hour unpaid lunch break each day, though hours in the building are flexible, while ensuring clinic opening hours are maintained.

Funding currently only guaranteed through the end of March 2020.
On-call coverage will be required.

Nurse Practitioner Pay Grid: $46 - $62 per hour. Rates above the base rate will be considered based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience and other factors.
