Community Animator

The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing social participation and engagement for low-resourced and/or isolated seniors. They will facilitate supporting the health and well-being of seniors by collaborating with other community programs and resources to empower seniors to contribute to their communities by connecting them with resources.  

Qualifications of this position include: 

  • Post-secondary education and/or lived experience in a well-being related field, such as community development, education, recreation therapy, social work, nursing occupational therapy
  • Undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector;
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Be able to obtain $2 million auto liability insurance
  • Have a clear understanding of inclusive, anti-oppressive practice
  • Employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19

The position is a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) job opportunity. $42,448 base rate per annum, plus benefits and pension contributions as defined by Board policy. Rates above the base rate will be considered based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience, and other factors.

Social Prescribing Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for training and overseeing employees and volunteers who are working together to link seniors with resources and supports and will help to facilitate more complex Social Work intervention cases. They will facilitate supporting the health and well-being of seniors by working with other program partners. They will help to develop program policies and procedures and evaluation.

· Have a clear understanding of inclusive, anti-oppressive practice
· Employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19

The position is a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) job opportunity. $47,754 base rate per annum, plus Employer paid Health & Dental plan, matched Pension plan, minimum 3 week paid vacation plus the last week of December paid time off, and generous sick leave accruals. This position also qualifies for a compressed work week if desired. Rates above the base rate will be considered based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience and other factors.
