MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT (Temporary Full-time)

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Medical Office Assistant provides administrative
services and support to Sage Health Services. This includes being responsible for answering
incoming calls, booking appointments, greeting clients, checking them in, taking vitals and
assisting in managing the workflow and providing administrative support to the Nurse Practitioners
and other health care providers at Sage. Other duties include equipment sterilization, attaching
faxes and scans to the client record, maintaining records on the Telus Med Access Electronic
Medical Record system, as well as handling all other general office duties.

Qualifications of this position include:

• Diploma/Certificate from a Medical Administration program preferred;
• Minimum 1-3 years work experience as a Medical Office Assistant;
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Telus Med Access preferred) and MS Office;
• Undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector.

The position is a temporary full-time (35 hours/week) job opportunity until March 31st, 2020.
$16.32 - $23.82 per hour. Rates above the base rate will be considered based on assessment

GRANTS COORDINATOR (Permanent Full-time)

The Grants Coordinator will drive Sage’s grant writing and reporting activities, while also supporting and informing knowledge mobilization, program development and refinement, and program evaluation. The Grants Coordinator collaborates with Sage’s leadership team and staff to explore funding needs, develop solicitation strategies and prospect research, structure and write proposals, develop collateral materials, complete and/or coordinate reporting and necessary follow-up, and provide post-award support to staff overseeing grant-funded projects. Key duties involve writing comprehensive and compelling proposals, submitting timely reports, keeping accurate records, and mobilizing the team to contribute as required.

The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, able to work independently while communicating frequently with team members, and is comfortable managing multiple, concurrent deadlines.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Professional grant writing experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, with demonstrated experience in seeking out and securing new funding experience, and experience working with seniors are preferred. To undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector is required.

The position is a permanent part time opportunity (20 hours/week). $23.32 – $33.63 per hour plus benefits and pension contributions as defined by board policy.

FOOD SERVICES MANAGER (Permanent Part-time or Full-time)

The successful Food Services Manager will oversee and perform work duties to maintain an acceptable level of food services for Sage including menu planning, food preparation, product quality, purchasing, cost controls, inventory management, compliance with health and safety regulations, staff and volunteer supervision and general food service area cleaning and sanitation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of Food Service and Kitchen Management experience;

• Journeyman Cook Certificate or equivalent;

• Undergo Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector is required;

• Have (and be prepared to use) a vehicle once a week and possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license;

• Be able to obtain $2 million auto liability insurance.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• Ability to run a food establishment in a cost effective manner by minimizing food and labour costs

in a small to mid-size organization, preferably a charitable organization;

• Ability to prepare a large variety of food items for small and large parties and needs;

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;

• Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team;

• Experience supervising staff and volunteers;

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and able to consistently meet deadlines;

• Knowledge and/or experience working in the seniors-serving sector is an asset.

The position is a permanent part-time or full-time opportunity (between 20-35 hours/week) depending on the candidate’s preference. $26.24 starting rate per hour plus benefits and pension contributions as defined by board policy. Rates above the entry level salary will be considered based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience and other factors.
